Stripe Status

Stripe’s status page at status.stripe.com is the canonical real-time view of payment-infrastructure availability. A Stripe outage is not an inconvenience in the way a slow dashboard is an inconvenience; a degraded payments API translates directly to failed checkouts, declined transactions, and revenue that does not recover when the service does. The incident history documents failure modes by component: API latency, webhook delivery delays, dashboard access, and regional degradations each appear as distinct incident types with their own impact windows.

The Atom feed at stripestatus.com/history.atom is the surface worth monitoring if Stripe sits in a system’s critical path. Post-mortems on the page tend toward the terse end of the spectrum rather than the exhaustive, but the component-level timelines are recorded consistently enough to feed an internal alerting pipeline or serve as an audit trail when a deployment coincides with a degradation and the question of causality needs answering.
